Have you ever gone to a business and literally been frozen? This often happens at restaurants and coffee shops where the temperature control is pre-set or the employees set it for their level of comfort. Of course the employees are moving around a lot and stay toasty even in the blizzard they create by way of the businesses ventilation system. Have you ever sat underneath a vent and the cold air blows right down on you and you have to move to a place where the airflow is not directed too you? This is quite common and occasionally a customer will complain to the management on hand about being frozen in their favorite coffee shop or business. Obviously this is not good for business.

Some top athletes make the Olympics. Others, apparently at least as skilled, do not make the cut. The difference between those who make it and those who do not is subtle, but critical: between athletes of approximately equal skill, victory goes to those who can best imagine succeeding. Of course, there are no shortage of athletes who will insist that they very definitely imagined winning. It turns out that anticipating success is not quite as simple as it would sound.

The following article from Cerebyte explores the role of positive deviants in driving innovation in your organization.

If someone is asked to make a decision about the photos, the majority of the pictures are either tossed or go home. Then the talk turns to the accumulation of home photos and how to handle them. In your quest to keep pace with all that's thrown at you, do you find yourself frequently preoccupied? It seems as if everyone is in overdrive today. We don't enjoy the morning, because we're always in a rush, concerned about getting to work on time. We don't enjoy our lunch, because we're worried about what's going to occur in the afternoon, or what needs to be done. We don't enjoy the afternoon, because we're thinking about how we have to pick up our children, get across town to attend a meeting, and then get back. We don't enjoy the evening, because it goes by too fast.
